A high school student in Moncton is researching why sexting and sending nude photographs and videos have become the norm among teens. Osowski said after her own experience with being harassed online, she decided it was time to address the issue head-on. Last September, she started a research project on gender toxicity in the media, which included exploring why boys feel the pressure to ask young women to take photos of themselves naked and send it to them. She said her research shows that teenage girls feel compelled to comply because their behaviour is being driven by media messages that she says are toxic for young women. She has presented her suggestions, which include in-class discussions about nude photos, media exploitation of women and unhealthy male gender representations online, to the Anglophone East School District. Psychology teacher, Heather Gunn and sociology teacher, Chris Evans have helped Osowski in her research. Osowski says she would like to see students learn how to view sexting and media through a critical eye. By Larry Celona. December 21, pm Updated December 22, am. A teacher at an all-girls Bronx charter school seduced a year-old student into sending naked photos of herself to him on Snapchat — and then molested her after class, officials said. Ryan Evans, 28, an English Language Arts teacher at the Bronx Global Learning Institute for Girls Charter School, was arraigned Thursday on charges of using a child in a sexual performance, possessing child porn and endangering the welfare of a child. Evans asked the girl to send multiple photos and videos of herself over the past five months, between August and December, according to the criminal complaint against him. The top charge of using a child in a sexual performance carries a possible maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
By Joshua Rhett Miller. April 20, am Updated April 20, am. Two elementary school students in Louisiana were arrested after a girl sent nude photos of herself to a boy who then shared them on Snapchat, police said. The students at Bonnie Ecole Elementary School were arrested Wednesday after school administrators found a male student in possession of nude photographs of a female classmate. A subsequent investigation revealed that the male student sent the racy photographs to several other students throughout the school via Snapchat, police in Slidell said Thursday. Both students, who were not identified, were arrested on charges of distribution of child pornography and were later released into the custody of their parents, police said.
